Da hat aber jemand tief in der Mottenkiste gegraben! DEMILICH sind heutzutage zwar weitestgehend vergessen, zählten aber ganz zu Anfang der Neunziger neben SENTENCED, AMORPHIS und DEMIGOD zu den wichtigsten Death Metal Bands Finnlands. Zwar nur im Underground als Sieger durchs Ziel gelaufen – den Mainstream Death Metallern von der OBITUARY Front ging das Album am Arsch vorbei - waren DEMILICH-Songs insbesondere bei den Tapetradern von damals beliebte Tauschobjekte. Anno 2003 klingt der technische Death Metal der Jungs etwas antiquitiert. Die sperrigen Songstrukturen, die tiefer gestimmten Gitarren, das sonderbare Schlagzeugspiel, der Sound und die ultratiefen, gutturalen Laute aus dem Munde von Antti Boman sind aber Zeugnis einer Aufbruchstimmung, die vor 13, 14 Jahren in Skandinavien herrschte. Neben den elf Songs des Albums gibt es vier Bonustrack vom ‚The Four Instructive Tales…Of Decomposition’ Demo. Für Nostalgiker und Death Metal Fans der alten Schule unverzichtbar, Neueinsteiger könnten mit dem Sound DEMILICHs ihre Probleme haben.
